A Very Busy Christmas Time!

Hey hey my fellow fudge lovers!

It's been absolutely manic here at the Fudge Kitchen! Which is why the blog has been a bit quiet.

We've been swamped with tonnes of mail order. Which, due to the quantity, was split between three shops - Canterbury, York and Bath! So, a massive well done to all involved! Around 770 boxes went out in the past week or so and that's roughly 4000 slices of fudge!! As well as making batch after back-breaking batch, so we've been working mega hard!

So, once again, well done to all at the Fudge Kitchen for being so brilliant and to everyone have a very merry Christmas and we'll see you in 2010!

The Obligatory Annual Reflections and Aspirations

With only 2 more sleeps 'til Christmas we begin to cogitate the last 12 months. The Fudge Kitchen has seen some major changes in this the final year of the "noughties".

With the aid of Ape, an independent design company from Brighton, we have undergone a colossal rebranding of all things fudge and this has resulted in an elegant style that has refreshed and unified the image of the whole company. Noticeably one of the biggest alterations has been the disappearance of Jim. Ape conducted a survey on our behalf and found that most who responded felt the important part of our brand was the delicious fudge and they felt little association with Jim. All packaging including bags, boxes and labels have been updated to fit this new look and so far the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Santa uses Fudge Twists for reindeer snacks

It's confirmed - Father Christmas has been saving up delicious fudgey treats for the reindeer. These were made by the Oxford shop crew for a charity Santa race in aid of the Helen Douglas Foundation. Wonder what flavour our horned friends prefer?

And Another... "Ballad O' An Oxford Winter"

The night was old
The snow was cold
But none fell in Oxford
We waited one day
Then two
Then three
But none fell in Oxford
Children went to sleep
With the hope that in the morn they’re locked in by a heap
But none fell in oxford
Then on day Four it fell to the floor
More by more
With a glisten here
A sparkle there
Oxford had been made a beautiful sight
On my venture out a ball hits me with might
To which I smile and think of the cheer
That comes barely once a year
By the end of the day it had melted away
The only reminder being a carrot coal and a scarf on the lawn.

A Snowy Poem... A Snoem, If You Will

Sweetly and silently it layers the ground,
Silently and softly it makes no sound,
Gracing our skies, our air, our earth,
Settling on hill tops, trees and turf,

Sweetly and silently the sky is now broken,
The snow it lets fall, it's last,
Romantic, token.

Snow is falling, all around me...

A white Christmas! Not had one of these for a while. If only we had time to stop and enjoy it. Unfortunately for us at the Fudge Kitchen all it means is delays in pick-ups and deliveries.

If you've ordered some fudge it will be on it's way though it may get delayed depending on the postal service. If you're thinking of ordering please choose the next day service for best chance of delivery before Christmas.

Christmas Deliveries

There be but nine days left till the jolly fat man in the big red suit sticks his head down our chimneys and leaves us all some lovely presents - assuming that we've been good boys and girls! It has certainly been a hectic one for the elves here at the Fudge Kitchen boxing up our delicious fudge for you splendid folk. If you haven't ordered yet but were planning on doing so then here are a few things to consider.

The cut-off for our standard 1st class delivery is 1pm on Monday 21st. However, to avoid disappointment I would recommend placing your order either today or tomorrow. With the way Christmas post can be it might be worth considering using our next day option. Though it is more expensive it will, theoretically, guarantee your delivery for the next working day. For prices please see http://www.fudgekitchen.co.uk/delivery.asp

Merry Christmas from all of us at the Fudge Kitchen

Foodies Festival, the result.

Well all went well, and we thought we'd treat you to a picture of the lovely Will, Manager from the Edinburgh shop (during the day anyway, masked vigilante by night time) showing off his tasty wares... There's even a little review too;

"Finishing off the afternoon, I visited the Fudge Kitchen who have a mouth watering shop on the Royal Mile. You can even seem them make the fudge in the shop. I tasted a wee sample and it’s made with cream, so super soft and absolutely sublime!"

So, if you missed us, come see us next time!
